Slovenija odprta za umetnost 2023

On Thursday 5th September 2024 at 6pm, participants of the 31st International Art Symposium Slovenia Open for Art, which took place at Sinji vrh (a hill above Ajdovscina) between 20th December 2023 and 28th January 2024, will exhibit their works in the gallery area of Sivec House. Artists from six countries took part in the internationally acclaimed art symposium: Robert Gruber (Austria), Elvis Berton (Croatia), Valentina De Vita and Paolo Klavora (Italy), Eduard Belsky (as guest of honour) and Ihor Nesmiianov (Ukraine), Katrina Sadrak and Rafał Urbański (Poland). Slovenia was represented by Darko Slavec (as guest of honour), Lara Ješe, Nik Anikis Skušek, Nika Černigoj and Rebeka Golob. The founder and conceptual leader of the project is the academic painter Klavdij Tutta, while the art historian and art critic Anamarija Stibilj Šajn was in charge of artistic direction. Ihor Nesmiianov, Katrina Sadrak and Lara Ješe received awards for their creations.

The participating artists are important creators on the contemporary art scene in their home countries, and are all different in terms of their artistic methods, techniques and the generations to which they belong. The exhibition in Šivec House is an important part, or rather ‘stop’ along the exhibition journey, which follows the working meeting at Sinji vrh and continues along its established, already traditional journey, as a touring exhibition. This allows the project to remain connected with the public throughout the year, while maintaining topicality and intercultural dialogue.

The artists and their works will be introduced at the opening of the exhibition by the art historian and art critic Anamarija Stibilj Šajn.

The exhibition will be on view until 28th September 2024, from Tuesdays to Saturdays between 10 am and 12 noon and 4 pm and 6 pm.
